Trip Information
What Reelfish provides:
When you step aboard a Reelfish fishing tour, Captain Craig will have a cooler full of ice cold water and snacks, you can bring your own beverages as well, just let him know in advance so he can leave room for your refreshments (no glass please). Reelfish can also arrange to have sandwiches or something comparable for a small fee, Subway, Publix, etc... or bring whatever you like!
Best boat for the thrill:
Ranger Bay 22' Boat
Reel Fish uses a 22’ Ranger Bay boat, powered by a 200hp Yamaha; this is one of Yamaha's most reliable engines ever built, with its two stroke technology it’s made for the rugged challenges Florida’s west coast has to offer. The hull design is an impressive dry ride and can venture through ruff chop with no problem. The boat provides ample cushioned seating with back rests for some well earned breaks. The Ranger is also well equipped with Coast Guard regulated safety equipment and dry storage for your valuables. There’s nothing like fishing in paradise on a cushioned seat with a drink in hand. Come join the adventure.
Landing Tarpon & Other Reel Big Fish:
Fishing Boca & Tampa Bay for monster Tarpon
When you hook into one of these beasts a common thing for the fish is a sudden leap sky high out of the water, AKA the wow factor. Your monster tarpon will do everything it can to make sure it doesn’t lose the battle. You will be so amazed by the brute strength and power of the Silver King (tarpon). But don’t worry Captain Craig will be there to coach you through the whole way. Sometimes landing a tarpon takes a little team effort, but that’s what makes the catch so rewarding. Come experience the tarpon season, a thrill of a lifetime and an unforgettable memory.
If you prefer a more tranquil setting, Snook and Redfish are a great backcountry catch. Either way, prepare for a Reelfish adventure.
Weather and Safety
Florida’s weather pattern can be pretty unpredictable. Reelfish has all safety equipment and safety locations to weather a storm. If Captain Craig or the National Weather Service deems it is unsafe or not optimal for fishing, you will be notified 12 hours in advance. We will then promptly reschedule your trip. Mother Nature is one thing you can’t control or overpower, the only thing you can do is prepare and be safe. If Craig ever feels the weather turns and becomes unsafe all action will be taken to get back to shelter. Most of the time storms are quick and blow right over, when it appears safe we will head back on the water. If the day has to come to an end arrangements will be made accordingly.
